My Story
I grew up in Italy, where food was not a hobby — it was a way of life. Sunday lunches that lasted for hours, grandmothers who knew the exact moment pasta was ready just by the sound of it, markets where the produce told you what to cook that day. That upbringing shaped everything about how I think about food.
My professional journey took me through some of the finest kitchens in the world — from Davide Oldani’s celebrated D’O restaurant in Milan, to the kitchens of Paris, and eventually to New York, where I worked under the legendary Alain Ducasse at Benoit, one of Midtown Manhattan’s most beloved French bistros. Those years taught me discipline, precision, and a profound respect for ingredients.
But through all of it, I never forgot the food that made me fall in love with cooking in the first place — honest, generous, deeply flavored home cooking. LifesRecipes.com is where those two worlds meet: professional technique in the service of beautiful, achievable home food.
